Planning is essential to achieve the bathroom of your dreams

Proper bathroom planning is essential to avoid mistakes that can be both costly and frustrating. Susan of popular Instagram account @Sue_Dan_ House, experienced this first hand when her original bathroom wasn’t working for her family and became a real frustration for them.

Susan says “Like many self-builders, we were eager to get into the house and while time was spent planning the kitchen and other spaces, we didn’t think too much about the bathroom. Shortly after moving in, I realised it wasn’t working for our family with limited storage, a bath too deep to bathe the children in, a too small walk-in shower that made the whole room wet as it wasn’t designed properly and a toilet blocking the best views! I hadn’t thought about how we would use it and having now finally achieved our dream bathroom realise how crucial it is to design the space around your family's needs and preferences.”

“As a busy mum, who also likes a bit of glam I think you need to really look at getting the right amount of storage. I love my Malmo unit, which has ample space and sections for makeup and have added in extra storage with the matching wall column. Additionally, the vanity's off-floor units give a more spacious feeling to the space. My Alex Backlit Mirror is just perfect for applying makeup. ”

“My striking Andrea freestanding bath with the Contour Matt Black Freestanding Bath Mixer is probably my favourite thing and is invaluable for a busy mum. We have positioned this to maximise the stunning views of the outdoor and it is now loved by me for relaxing baths and has also made evening bathing of the children a fun time.”

Susan's luxurious bathroom is a testament to the exceptional expertise available at Sonas Bathrooms. Susan really recommends spending time doing bathroom planning “Visiting the showroom in Dublin or a local Sonas Studio or attending a design class with Sonas Bathrooms can provide you with the necessary expertise to create a bathroom that is not only functional but also stylish. By doing so, you can utilise all the available space effectively, without worrying about making costly mistakes.”
