SONAS were tasked with providing a specification for the project by the Head of Sustainability at CBRE to meet a LEED Gold Rating.
LEED Certification: Recognizing Sustainable Buildings and Neighborhoods
Moreover, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary rating system that certifies sustainable buildings and neighborhoods. Furthermore, the certification confirms that a building's design and construction achieve a performance that surpasses national standards for energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, indoor environmental quality, stewardship of resources, and environmental impacts.
Creating Sustainable Solutions: SONAS Commercial Team's Contribution to LEED Certification
Some of the requirements included electric charging points and solar panels for renewable power along with an emphasis on employee wellness inside the Grade-A office building. Included also was a requirement for sustainable bathroom solutions which is where our SONAS commercial team set about devising solutions.

As a member of the Unified Water Label, SONAS are committed to offering a wide range of water saving bathroom products and so we were delighted to assist DB Schenker in their bid to achieve LEED Gold standard for their new facility.
Balancing LEED Gold Standards with Aesthetics: A Challenge for the Project Team
Additionally, a key challenge for the team was achieving the LEED Gold standard without compromising on the aesthetics of the project, which was a goal important to all stakeholders, including RKD architects, CBRE, and the client, DB Schenker.
RKD architects visited SONAS HQ, where various product solutions were demonstrated by our commercial specification team and together a specification was agreed which achieved the necessary water and energy saving requirements while not compromising on the architect's design vision for the project.
Rimless DOC M Packs with TMV3 sequential lever TapSONAS provided high quality water saving sanitary ware, taps and brassware to meet the LEED Gold standard, including:
- Additionally, we offer Rimless DOC M Packs with TMV3 sequential lever Tap. The DOC M WC features a 4.5 Litre flush, and the tap ensures a water flow of 1.87LPM.
- SONAS Jasmin Eco mixer (UBR0099) f
- features a 1.89LPM cascade aerator, making it suitable for semi-recessed or vanity basins with its 119mm spout projection.
- Concealed Pneumatic Dual Flush feature cisterns set to a 4/2.6 Litre flush. Additionally, both the Ambulant and Standard height BTW pans are Rimless and offer a 4/2.6 Litre flush.
- SONAS Urinal is fitted with a Sensor flush valve. It can be adjusted with a Bluetooth module to set the flush volume parameters. The urinal is also set to an ambulant height for DOC M.
- In the shower areas, SONAS Quest (GEC1003) was supplied with x2 6 Litre flow regulators. One for the Rain Head and one for handset.
- SONAS Concealed DOC M shower pack: Furthermore, the SONAS Concealed DOC M shower pack comes with a fully TMV3 sequential lever shower, 1-meter slide rail kit, and anti-vandal fixed head, all of which have 6-litre flow regulators installed.
