Viva CollectionTypes of Toilets

Choosing the right toilet for your bathroom can be a daunting task, so we've made it a little easier for you with this guide and our new YouTube video.

Close Coupled

The Closed Coupled toilet is the most common toilet sold in Ireland. It gets its name from the pan and cistern being closely coupled together, unlike the more traditional style of the cistern being high above the pan. All of our Closed Coupled toilets are available in Comfort Height and Short Projection. We also have a selection of Rimless options available. There are two types of Closed Coupled toilets:

1. Fully Shrouded

A Fully Shrouded toilet's base and cistern go all the way back to your wall, concealing your bathroom pipework.

2. Open Back

An Open Back style has a 4 inch clearance space, offering more flexibility for your pipework.

Back To Wall

The main difference between this style and the Closed Coupled is that the cistern is concealed behind your bathroom wall or placed in a furniture unit. Back To Wall WCs are a great space saving technique and give a sleek and modern design feel.

Wall Hung Toilets

Wall Hung Toilets create the elusion that the pan is “floating” off the ground, creating more space. The cistern is concealed in a frame that is placed behind your bathroom wall. The frame can hold up to 400 kg of weight and there are a variety of flush plates available to choose from.
