Christmas decorating ideas for your bathroom.

Categories: Bathrooms

IT'S that time of year: if you've got kids, you're probably already being asked when the Christmas tree will be going up and you're probably contemplating venturing up to the attic to drag out boxes of decorations. Christmas is just around the corner and although you might never have contemplated decorating your bathroom before, we think you should definitely add some festive touches to spread some Christmas cheer in one of the most used rooms of the house.

  1. Chances are you won't be able to put a Christmas tree up in your bathroom but you could do a little LED twig tree. It won't take up too much space, it doesn't need a plug and it'll add some lovely sparkle to the room. You could put it directly onto your vanity unit, on a shelf or in the window sill. We love this one from homestore + more

2. Make a festive statement with your towels. Christmas is all about reds, greens and gold, so an easy way to add some ho ho ho to your bathroom is to arrange your towels in a festive colour scheme. You could even tie a bundle up in a Christmas bow for some extra cheer.

3. Bring the smell of Christmas into your bathroom. Fragrances can be so evocative and there's nothing quite like the aroma of the holidays. This Scenterpiece Gift Set from Yankee is a flameless and ideal for the bathroom. The smells are Christmas Cookie and Christmas Eve. Fabulous. And the set looks good too. You could place it on the back of your cistern or on a side table by your bath.

4. You might be a fan of novelty decorations and kids would certainly love this - a santa costume for your toilet! There are loads of these available online - we saw this one on aliexpress.com.

5.  Be creative with baubles. You could fill a glass vase with different colours - gold, silver, red - whatever takes your fancy. It's really easy and cheap to do, but it looks fabulously festive. Another gorgeous touch is adding acorns or greenery with the baubles for a crisp, winter feel.

6. Even your toilet paper could use a little festive spirit this Christmas. Tie a little ribbon around each bow and arrange them nicely in a storage basket to add a sprinkle of cheer in a really simple way.

So there you have it. Some really easy peasy ways to get your bathroom ready for the festivities of Christmas. It's not just decking the halls - mistletoe and holly would also look lovely in the bathroom, so use your imagination and get the creative juices flowing.
